The Amherst Police Department, a progressive department, is seeking motivated, hardworking applicants for the position of full-time police officer. Applicants will be required to pass a written test, physical agility test, oral board interviews, polygraph examination, psychological testing, and medical examination with drug testing. The Town of Amherst has a population of approximately 14,000 and is conveniently located in the south central portion of New Hampshire and covers approximately 34 square miles.
